Well, i'm off to my first day of work in over a year. I got my food handlers card updated. I got a pair of checks that i could fit into, and went down to the temp agency to get some work. They got me shifts right away. It feels good to be going off to do some work for pay. After a year of not working, and health issues, i can actually walk back into a kitchen.
I found out that the people who weren't giving me shifts last year are gone from the company. So worry no. 1 is gone. I've got work through the weekend and on Monday. I'm still going to look for a full-time job, but for now, it's about the money, and being able to bring some income into the house. I checked with Master, She wants me to do this. Even though its convienent for Her to have me home, and available, it's better right now if i'm bringing in a paycheck. Not to be too optimistic, but maybe this way we can attend Thunder. Also, working with the temp agency gives me freedom to not work if we are going to go out of town. In a regular job i wouldn't have that kind of freedom. We'll see how it goes.
Master also allowed the finances to get my card, and my checks. Since She is the one who wanted me to get back to work, i had to have the tools to do my job, and not just knives.
The hands are stable now. The foot is better. Not great, but better. I have my last physical therapy on Friday. It is so much better then it was even a month ago. I'll have to be careful though. I've got long shifts over the weekend, so we'll see how i feel come Monday.
Time to drink coffee, and be a working stiff. I'm looking forward to getting into some kitchens to work with some quality chefs again...that won't be right away, but it won't be long either.
