A friend and a Community activist passed away last night. Michele De LaFreniere fought for TG rights in the Scottsdale community and surrounding areas. This last week also saw a huge push nationally for LBGT rights as well.

Michele, we will miss you. You have no more pain and suffering. You lived an honest and authentic life which is why there are so many people who love you. This Samhain I will remember you, and remember how thin the veil is. Maybe I will get to glimpse you one more time.

It does hurt that we couldn't come and see you last week. It's a long drive and takes money. I was willing to go. But Master keeps us responsible. So we sent our love, our energy, our well wishes across the mountains to the Phoenix Valley.

I will miss you. Though I did not get to see you as often as other people did. I would look for you at events and parties, and sometimes you were there. It made me happy. You will live on in our memories and our hearts. And as much fight as you had here on this plane, I'm sure you take it with you to the next place your spirit travels to.

We have added to Master's household recently. After moving to Santa Fe, we met a young M/s couple, heteroflexible, with like minds. After about six months of getting to know them we discussed inviting them into the fold. I got really excited about the prospect of having a larger family. We also extended an offer to another person, whom we both love and respect, but she hasn't agreed to join yet.

I haven't been able to get to many Leather/Fetish events over the last few months because they switched my schedule and were working me all sorts of odd hours. I was getting really frustrated, and was finally able to speak to my boss about it. Hopefully this will free up some time in the future to make connections with friends in the area.

We started a MAsT group last Spring. It is going well, people drop in and out, but we have a strong core, including the young couple. Fortunately my work schedule has been somewhat conducive to my making those meetings. The MAsT meetings are really important to both of us.

I tried to get a boy group started but folks seemed a little apathetic about it. I couldn't get people to show up for meetings, and the one contact with the leather wolves that I have wouldn't get me in to speak with them about having their boys join up. It was actually asked of me what our goal or purpose was. Really, I aligned the group to follow the national mission of most boy groups, which is to socialize, create an atmosphere of Service and help each other grow in our leather identity. I really wish I could have made it work, but maybe if I can get out into the community more, I can foster those kinds of relationships that will create a strong bond of Leather boy pride and boyhood.

Mostly, I've been working, trying to be of quality service to Master, and mentoring our new family members. I could do a bit more of that, I know.

I'm looking forward to halloween this year. We have a party next Friday, if my work schedule allows me to go. I'm excited about that! And the next MAsT meeting should be coming up soon. Hopefully I can start writing a bit more, and sharing more openly about what is going on with life. We've had a friend in crises, and now another one in Phoenix who is very, very sick, and just been moved to Hospice. She is really an amazing woman, and my heart and love go out to her.
